The idea of cruising as a holiday has, until recently, been something that is only associated with older people or possible youths looking to party. However, cruising can offer one of the most exciting experiences for any vacation and can be the perfect answer to the dilemma of where to go on your honeymoon. In fact, cruise ships come in all shapes and sizes. As a rule the larger the ship the better the facilities, however, this also means there will be a lot more people to share the boat with and may make you feel a little hemmed in at times. Here are some ideas for your honeymoon cruise:

Crystal Serenity

This ship is as big as many of the biggest cruise ships but only has just over one thousand passengers; this ensures you have room to move and the freedom to enjoy the facilities. You can even spoil yourself with a penthouse; a mini suite that comes with its own butler and ensures that honeymooners do not need to leave their room, if they do not want to! In the summer Crystal Serenity offers a fantastic cruise in Northern Europe; the cruise, known as “The Bounty of the Baltic” starts in Stockholm and cruises to Tallinn in Estonia, St Petersburg in Russia and even onto Helsinki to ensure you get to see a little of everything!

Celebrity Silhouette

This ship will carry just fewer than three thousand passengers but you will still feel like you have space. Join Celebrity Silhouette between May and November in Venice and travel to Croatia, Montenegro and Malta to experience the delights of the Adriatic coast. Alternatively, the ship cruises around the Caribbean between December and April.

Silver Spirit

Silver Spirit is smaller and offers a world class service for all of its 540 guests. Almost everything is included in board; with the exception of the two finest restaurants, spa treatments and shore excursions. One of the best cruise options is between April and October. You can travel from Athens to Istanbul; visiting the islands of Mykonos, Santorini, Crete and Rhodes. It is truly a magical experience.

The Star Flyer

Star Flyer is an elegant sailing ship reminiscent of yesteryear. The ship leaves Stockholm in Northern Europe and travels to Saaremaa which is known as the home of the Estonian Vikings who attacked Scandinavia repeatedly taking what they wanted. Finally, in the 13th Century, the Danish send an army to put the Estonia Vikings in their place. A day at sea will take you to St Petersburg and the huge amount of history and culture it is possible to see there. The two days on shore provided by the cruise ship will give you a taster but not the chance to experience everything. The final port of call is Helsinki which offers a touch of nature rather than the opulence of Russia. A wonderful contrast and spectacular end to a honeymoon!

Little Ship

Little Ship is literally a small cruise ship! It takes just 312 passengers and provides a seven day cruise around the Caribbean; visiting a host of beaches and deserted bays. You can enjoy the sparkling waters and swim, kayak or water ski. The ship cruises the Caribbean between December and April and visits the Mediterranean between April and October. It generally uses its motors to travel but is capable of using the sails in its five masts to travel swiftly across the ocean and give you an experience of oneness with nature.

Allure of the Seas

Allure of the Seas is massive! It carries just over five thousand passengers. In fact it is the world’s biggest cruise ship and is actually separated into seven distinct neighborhoods! Despite the number of people on board it never feels too crowded and has something to offer everyone. It offers a seven night cruise around the Caribbean, visiting a multitude of islands. It runs alternate weeks between the West Caribbean and the East; stay in for two weeks and experience both; you will never want to leave!

Have you made a decision yet? Plan your cruise in advance and enjoy your summer vacation style. Whether you’re fond of Northern Europe and its stunning Scandinavian regions or you’d rather stick to the Caribbean, there has to be something to exceed your expectations.
