Starting from the deepest water, going over the deepest pits straight to the highest peaks on the highest mountains in the world, there is almost not a square foot on the face of the Earth that has not been revealed. The thrill of going into an adventure wakes up that primordial fear and pumps blood into our veins. Some say that it is dopamine addiction that keeps us going, but I am not an expert and I can simply say what I like, and adventure is exactly that. Every break and every holiday I tend to spend in a different place, and this is the selection of my favourite adventure travel destinations.

Africa

Madagascar, Africa

Even though our first destination is four hundred kilometres away from the coast of Africa, Madagascar is a perfect place to start your adventure. Heaven on Earth, it is full of beaches, coral reefs, beautiful mountain ranges rich in wildlife, perfect for mountain biking, camping, spelunking and many more, depending on your personal preferences. Another beautiful, inland place includes going hiking and horseback riding in South Africa, which also offers scuba diving, shark diving, water skiing, snorkelling and fishing.

The Americas

British Columbia, Canada

The Americas also have a lot to offer, but my favourite destinations are British Columbia (Canada) and Brazil. In British Columbia, you can visit the world famous ski resort, Whistler Blackcomb, and during the summer you can go hiking, mountain biking, climbing and mountaineering along its beautiful mountain ranges. On the other hand, Brazil has a completely different offer. There you can take a canoe or boat ride on the Amazon, watch wildlife in the PantanalMatogrossenseNational Park which includes jaguars, iguanas and caimans, or you can simply go to the coastline and surf and dive until you lose your breath.

Asia

Himalayas, Nepal

Being the home of the eight tallest peaks in the world, such as Mount Everest, Nepal will surely leave you out of breath. Here you can go mountaineering, trekking, mountain biking, rafting, paragliding, climbing, and many more things. Besides these, you can also see Bengal tigers, ride the back of elephants and see rhinos in its beautiful national parks in the south of Nepal.

Europe

Switzerland lake view

Maybe the richest continent in adventure destinations, Europe has a lot to offer to dopamine junkies.

  • Norway – The land of the beautiful fjords, Norway is famous for Vikings and beautiful mountain ranges and coastline that simply call for adventure. If you happen to prefer skiing, snowboarding, snow kiting, ice skating, ice climbing, ice fishing or any other snow sports, this is the right place for you.
  • Switzerland – Another cold place and snow heaven, Switzerland has a lot to offer only if you have enough time. Here you can go fishing, rafting, climbing, canoeing, mountaineering, biking, walking, and practically anything that comes to your mind, because whatever you choose, the beautiful Alps will surely never disappoint you.
  • The Mediterranean – If you are more into sailing, the best destinations in the world are definitely the coastlines of Croatia and Greece, rich in cultural history and beautiful terrain. Besides sailing, you can also do inland activities which involve mountain biking, hiking, racing, rafting, horseback riding, and many more.

Australia & New Zealand

Sydney, Australia

The southern hemisphere also has a lot to offer. Being an adventurer’s paradise, Australia and new Zealand are rich in history, so you can see their aboriginal and Maori cultural sites and national parks. If you happen to find your vessel in this part of the world, do not miss scuba diving experience in the Big Reef. And if you happen to have vessel problems, or you simply want it to look great and stay in a ship-shape condition, you can easily find boat detailing services. New Zealand will offer you snowboarding, mountaineering, hiking and rafting experiences of your lifetime, so make sure not to miss it!

And finally, we know that different people have different needs, so maybe we have not listed all the great adventure destinations there are. But this does not mean that it should stop you from exploring. If you have recently visited a great place on Earth or have a special one you prefer the most, do not hesitate and tell us everything about it in the comments section below. We really want to hear what you have to say.
