Boston, Massachusetts, is one of the oldest cities in the United States, full of historical buildings and neighborhoods, along with a plethora of other sites and attractions. If you like a nice walk, from downtown Boston you can follow the 2.5 mile long Freedom Trail to Bunker Hill, stopping at Faneuil Hall Marketplace for a browse and a bite to eat, or visit the Bell in Hand Tavern – America’s oldest bar. Head over to Cambridge for a look at some amazing historic buildings, including those of some of America’s most prestigious universities, Harvard and MIT. If you love shopping, head to Newbury Street for some of Boston’s best boutique shops. The city has a great range of hotels and accommodations to choose from. Here are some good hotels to consider during your stay.

If You Want to Stay Downtown

The Millennium Bostonian is a good choice for a downtown hotel in Boston. The hotel is set in an excellent location close to the water and with great city views. You can easily walk to many attractions including the Faneuil Marketplace for shopping and eating, Boston Common, and the aquarium.

Family Friendly in Longwood

The Inn at Longwood Medical is one of Boston’s best family friendly hotels. It is situated in Longwood, close to the main medical precinct, but also close to the Museum of Fine Art and Fenway Park if you like baseball. The hotel has a great range of amenities including a restaurant, but you can also browse the shops and restaurants in the mall attached to the hotel.

On the River in Cambridge

The Boston Marriott, located right in the heart of Kendall Square, makes it an excellent choice for a hotel in the Cambridge area of Boston. The hotel has fantastic views of the Charles River across to downtown Boston, and is close to the city’s universities and the science museum. The hotel also has an amazing rooftop garden with great views of the city. Its also a good choice if you want to be closer to the airport.

Comfortably Located Between Harvard and Downtown

Courtyard is another excellent hotel by Marriott in Boston. The hotel is in Cambridge, but only minutes from downtown Boston and is set conveniently close to both Harvard and MIT. The hotel has spectacular views of Cambridge and Boston and is a short drive from the airport.

Out of the City

If you prefer to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Crowne Plaza is a good choice for a quiet hotel in Boston. The hotel is located in Newton, a peaceful area of Boston, but still close enough to the city that you can easily head downtown each day to enjoy its attractions. The hotel also has an indoor pool and restaurant.

These hotels provide a good range to suit your needs and ideal location. Boston is a fascinating and interesting city to explore, and choosing any of these hotels will provide you with a pleasant stay.
